The tech took off on that and recommended that I get a new cable that had a Thunderbolt (or USB C) male connector on one end and a regular HP 8600 USB B (or 2.0) male connector on the other. So the senior techs zeroed in on the question "why does the 8600 print at startup but not at any other time?" I suggested there was a surge of power at the startup. Every time, as the computer restarted, the job would print! So the tech would say "restart the computer". Be sure it says "Detected operating system: MacOS 11.0" just above "All Drivers".Īs we were checking other stuff, again and again we would make some change and then try to print. The main thing that we did about a-half-dozen times was to go to the HP website and download the driver and essential software for Mac OS 11. I spoke to three: one regular tech and two senior techs over a period of three hours over two days. So the next day I called the Apple techs.

I did and it worked after I did it, but not at all the next day. The HP tech said to follow the instructions on MacKeeper ( ). I read most of the online discussions and decided to call HP and Apple. Yes, it would print with WiFi but I do not like WiFi so on with the story. From the start of setting up, the new MacMini with OS 11 would not print on the 8600 using a regular USB B (2.0) cord. My printer hardware is an HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus.

Printer, scanner anda fax installation software.
